What we dont know is scary!

I've been wondering a lot lately and I noticed that when people don't know something, they are afraid of it. When something isn't familiar it is scary. And of course there are exceptions, but mostly we react like we are scared. We don't want to have anything to do with it, we don't want don't want to even think about it. We push it away. I wonder, why?

Here is the reason why I think it is. Something people don't know is unfamiliar, and when something is unfamiliar you for example don't know how to act when it is a creature or when it is a way of thinking you have never thought about before or when it is a disease. Or when it is an it you don't know what to make out of it. Not knowing what to do or how to act and to not stick to our personal ways of thinking is scary, and that is why people push it away.

Which I think is a shame, because I think new things are exciting! Something to learn about, an opportunity to grow and develop yourself. It could change you in a positive way. And in the case of diseases you can't push that away and just deny that something exists without research.

So I feel like we should embrace new things whether there positive or not, rather than pushing them away.

Hey everyone!

Sorry for not posting in so long! I have been wondering, if there was one solution which would solve everything in the universe, would that then be love? Because I honestly think that love is absolutely beautiful and has unlimited ways of showing itself. Like, you can love your family, but you can also love your partner in a romantic way and you can love a friend in a caring way.

On the other side of the story, love is complex. Love can cause you pain, maybe even hatred and traumatic experiences. For example when someone abuses you, but you wouldn't want to admit that the person does that to you, because you want to keep faith in the person and unconditionally love the person. Or when you lose someone you love, because of death or because the person doesn't love you anymore.

So I think that love can also be a problem cause for a lot of things. So my conclusion on what I came with thinking about this is that love can both be the cause of problems as the solution to everything in the universe.

What do you think about this subject? What are your opinions? Think about it if you feel like it! Philosophy is really interesting in my opinion.
